SAFRAN 3.6 PROVIDES SEAMLESS INTEGRATION WITH MICROSOFT PROJECT
2007 AND WINDOWS VISTA
ALBUQUERQUE, NM, February 26, 2009
– Safran North America (SNA), manufacturers of the most
powerful “one solution” project management software on the
market today, announced that it has finalized releases that
continues to maximize out-of-the-box integration with Microsoft
Project® 2007 and now supports the Microsoft Windows® Vista
environment.
Safran version 3.6 introduces an integrated solution built from
the project plan that not only includes planning and resource
management, but also cost management of projects using internal
and external rates, indirect cost accounts, portfolio
management, baseline control, performance management including
earned value management for those organizations operating under
the ANSI 748 standard, variance analysis and an organic chart
and graphing engine for project analysis. In addition, in order
to serve its growing federal and defense market, Safran version
3.6 includes standard U.S. federal government reporting under
Department of Defense (DoD) and Office of Management and Budget
(OMB) guidance..
“As a Microsoft Gold Certified partner we introduce
near-simultaneous releases to support the Microsoft EPM
environment,” said Safran North America CEO, Nicholas Pisano.
“As these new environments provide greater potential for
integration our customers expect us to leverage that capability
to achieve a more complete project management environment that
precludes the outmoded module-based, stove-piped approach to
project management. With the latest release of Safran 3.6 we
provide unparalleled cost and schedule integration from the
ground up in the latest and most advanced operating
environment.”
Safran’s latest release has enhanced its already robust
functionality with Microsoft Project® by allowing users to
operate in multiple version environments beginning with
Microsoft Project® 2000 through its latest version.
“To support our clients and the demands of the market we’re
dedicated to continuously enhance our integration capabilities
with the latest technologies out there, which in this case is
Microsoft Project 2007 and Windows Vista,” said Matthew Pitstick,
Safran North America CTO. “Due to the significant new features
offered by Microsoft, there’s been a recent increase in the
number of organizations moving to Windows Vista and clients
upgrading to Microsoft Project 2007, so we as an integrator had
to react without compromising the significant investment that
our customers have in Windows XP or earlier versions of
Microsoft Project. Through the latest release we are able to
conform to the customer’s environment out of the box without the
requirement for specialized setup or development outside of what
we provide in our usual install wizard process. This means
flexibility and direct cost savings for our customers as they
naturally progress to new technologies in the EPM environment.”
